online movements

This week in class, we talked about online movements and discussed our next project. I got excited about this project because we could do any topic we feel passionate about. My group and I decided to do We need more diverse books. Little did I know, there are so many online movements and organizations for this cause, as well as many other causes. I'm excited to do a project on we need more diverse books because growing up, I remember always reading about the same characters in stories. They were almost always white, had a mom and dad, cookie cutter, perfect life. This just isn't the reality of kids and their families these days and I want more books to show diversity.
